Transcript of Conversation with MMcMullen -- Date: pg 1/1
"What do you do?"
I develop creative marketing programs and write copy. I specialize in communicating with audiences on their own terms.
That means that I develop content people want and then deliver it to them in a voice that resonates with their internal dialogue. The avenues for this type of communication are unlimited, but some of my favorites are through site charisma, email marketing programs and content enhancements.
"What is site charisma?"
Just like a human salesperson, a website has to have a magnetic personality. It needs to do more than relay information. It has to build a rapport.
Site charisma is the intangible quality of a website that makes a personal connection to individual visitors. The Internet is a big cocktail party. If your site is both gregarious and substantive, you're going to make a lot of new friends. And while popularity is nice, the real payoff is that consumers are more likely to buy from or believe their friends.
An example of a site with lots of charisma is SumoGlue.com.
"How does site charisma work with email marketing programs?"
Once your site has friends, you want to keep in touch. Combine site charisma with the right email timing strategies and your potential customer base will look forward to your marketing messages.
Email timing strategies can be as straightforward as a monthly newsletter to maintain communications, or as fine-tuned as relationship-based emails that track and communicate through the stages of a customer lifecycle.
"What was the content enhancement that you mentioned?"
Straight information is the perfect payoff for a highly motivated visitor. But most visitors need a motivation boost. They need a little push to get them to dive into your site. Content enhancement adds extra reasons for visitors to stick around and return frequently.
Think of content enhancements as a reward to your visitors for coming to your site. The form of this content is based on what your visitors want, but could include extra information, interactive calculators, games, polls or any other enhancements that pique interest.
"What about traditional marketing?"
I haven't really mentioned that on this page, have I?
"No, you haven't."
Traditional marketing should come from the same creative source, voice and strategy as Internet marketing. While there are differences in execution, the same skills and experience that allow me to create amazing Internet marketing also allow me to create amazing offline marketing.
"When can we meet to talk about this further?"
I would love to meet with you. Call or email me to set up a time. I'm looking forward to it.
